BUSY

Busy is the words that defines my life lately. We have had so much going on lately! I can't say that I haven't enjoyed every second though. All my pics are backwards... someday I will figure out this whole blogging thing! ha.

In High School there was a big group of girls that were all best buddies and have known eachother since we were little. The last one of the girls finally tied the knot this past weekend at Redfish Lake in Idaho. Some of the girls couldn't make it (we really missed you), but we had a blast with those that could! Emily made a beautiful bride and I am so happy for her.... and really super jealous because she is honeymooning in FIJI!

Daxton LOVED throwing rocks in the lake. My dad made a comment that he was the most boyish boy he has been around in a long time! The kid is BUSY. He could throw rocks at nothing all day long and just think it was the greatest thing ever!

We had family and friends join us for Bodie's baby blessing over Labor Day weekend. Daxton loves all the attention so much and it was a really special blessing that Landon gave our little baby Bo.

These two kinda run the show around here! Daxton and Taylor are only three weeks apart and loved playing together. They don't get to see eachother all that often, but they are so cute together!

He loves to sleep on his tummy. He is such a yummy, snuggly baby (for now) If he is anything like Daxton he will be anti-snuggles in no time at all. :)

This was only at about three weeks and has put on some serious chub since, but isn't he cute!!!

This is the bath time routine at our house! Before I had two kiddos I never thought about how you bathe everybody and yourself and have time for ANYTHING else in the day.... so we multi task! Bodie gets a splashes all little, but he is just gonna have to get used to the Daxton abuse.

Thanks to all our family and friends who spent the weekend with us and helped make it even more special! I love my little family.

FINALLY! Bodie Landon Sherwood

Wow, I am so behind! Three weeks behind to be exact. Bodie is three weeks old today! Holy smokes.

Everything went really really really well with Bodie's birth. Daxton's birth... not so much so this time I was so grateful that everything went well. I started having contractions on Sunday night and went to bed with a few tylenol thinking that they would either go away or get stronger. Well, they dindn't go away and by about 12:30 I wasn't able to sleep through them anymore. I just rested as much as I could and by about 2:30 I woke Landon up to inform him that the baby was coming, but that I wanted to wait until morning to go to the hospital. Yes, I am crazy. So I got my bags packed, showered, and just relaxed (as much as possible!). Daxton woke up at about 6:30am (thankfully) and we rushed him to my sisters and off to the hospital. By this time I am DYING! We get there and they admit me right away, check me and I am already a 7. Good thing Daxton didn't sleep in! I am not sure I would have made it! They broke my water and Bodie was born at 11:18 on 8/1/11. He weighed in at exactly 7 pounds and 19.5 inches. He was perfect and right away I knew that he looked just like his daddy. I didn't get to hold Daxton right after I had him because of some complications, so this time I made sure I got to hold him and it was so wonderful and I think has helped me bond.




Daxton's first time meeting his baby brother. He wasn't sure that to think right at first, but warmed up really fast and now WILL NOT leave him alone! If Bodie makes a noise he is right there to inspect what is happening and loves to hold him and give him kisses, all.day.long! I hope they are best friends.

Matchy, matchy. Yes, I am the type of mom to match all their outifts..... I think it is so cute! And I will probably do it until they fight me.

We love our little Bo to pieces and are so glad and blessed to have him here safe and sound. He is already growing so fast and we are enjoying him so much..... now if I could just get a little more sleep. *YAWN*

4th of July

I am glad to finally get a little updated in the blogging business! Keep scrolling down because I have posted quite a bit in the past few days.

We had an AWESOME 4th of July. I mostly just love when family comes to visit and Landon gets an extra day off, it's a treat for sure. Landon's family came to visit this year because months ago we bought tickets for the Stadium of Fire. WOWWWWWWZERS. Brad Paisley did not dissapoint! What a great show, can't wait to go back again. Hopefully next time I won't be 9 months pregnant though, that made for some swollen feet, near heat stroke and a sore back!

I must brag a little. We just happen to live on the coolest street ever. Yes, we all live in tan stucco matching houses in SLC suburbia, but I happen to love it and my neighbors are so great. This year we had a big 4th of July street party and it was so fun! One neighbor in particular put in a lot of hard work, but it turned out great and the kids loved it.

They had this CUTE train that the kids rode ALL day long. It was adorable!

Daxton's first tatoo. I know, we are such scandalous parents. He was obsessed with it and loved to show it off to everybody.

We bought the little guy some snappers or poppers or whatever you call them. He just ran around giggling and stomping on them until they were gone. I love how the most simple things can entertain him for hours!

We finished off the 4th with some smores in our fire pit (YUM) and watching fireworks from the top of our rock wall. It doesn't get better than that!

Shish

Daxton LOVES shish (fish), so when Landon got some tickets to the aquarium in SLC we knew we had to take Daxton right away. To say that he loved it is an understatement!!!! Shish, Shish Shish is ALLL I heard the rest of the day. He would run from one exhibit to the next and then back and forth and then move on. What a silly kid. They have a really cute kids play area that was his favorite. It had caves to crawl through and kid height fish tanks. They also have a new penquin display which is pretty cool and he loved that! It is so fun to watch him grown and learn and be so interested in things.

I've had a birthday!

I am planning on posting lots and lots in the next couple of days so keep checking back (if you are interested).

Welp, I am in the last year of my 20's. There is no turning back and 30 is already staring me in the face. EEEEEEKKKKKKSSSSSSSS. I have always told myself that age doesn't matter and that getting older is wonderful and heard that the 30's are often people's best years, BUT...... I am kinda changing my mind now! I am feeling like I want to turn back time and never get a second older. I am the age that people lie about being for years and years! So from now on I will be turning 29 every year OK?

My twinner lives just down the road and it is really fun to celebrate together again. We went to her little girls first ever dance recital, got a little chubbier at Cheesecake Factory, opened some loot, and just enjoyed the day. It was perfect!

I have an 18 month old!

I can't believe Daxton is already 18 months and on the way to being a big brother! He still seems so little to me! Well, he is still really little I guess. We love this little man SOOOO much. He fills our home with such a happy little noise, and MESS. He is talking up a storm and so curious about life. I love to watch him learn and grow and can't believe how smart (and manipulative) he is already.

Here is is right after his first day of Nursery at chuch which was kind of a FLOP!!!! I thought that he would do so great because he is little Mr. Independent, but I was so wrong. He was really tired and hungry and if you look at his forehead you can see his church battlewounds which didn't help. Maybe next time..... I am keeping my fingers crosssed tightly!

Um, cute? Yes, I think so.

He seems to get really obsessed with certain things, like: watermelon, Elmo, tractors, cars, animals, shoes, dogs, etc. And he talks about them ALL DAY LONG. In fact the first time he wore the Elmo jammies (below) he couln't sleep because he was too excited about them. He can eat so much watermelon that I am kinda shocked his skin isn't a weird shade of pink. Tractors and cars are his absolute favorite thing. When he goes to his toy box he finds every single one, lines them all up, and plays with them all day. Such a boy.

MIA Kauai Style

Hawaii..... trip numero #2! This trip was VERY unplanned and last minute. Landon has been covering all the Hawaii construction and estimating at work so when they call him and need him to come he goes. This time they asked him to come for two weeks and that is too long to be away from home so invited me to come along!!!!! wahhhhoooooooo! I had never been to Kauai (have you???? so so pretty) so was super excited even though i had like 1.2 seconds to pack and jump on a plane with zero plans except to get a killer tan. Well, quite contraire my friends. Did you know that the highest peak on Kauai is one of the rainest places on planet earth???? Yeah, I didn't. As it turns out we went for the worst two weeks of the entire year, weather wise anyway. The wind blew HARD and it rained the.entire.time. We had like one squeak of sunshine the Friday we left.... of course!!!! In fact there were flood warnings one whole week and a whopping 8 inches of rain one day. So I came home whiter that I was before, so discouraging! We still tried to live it up as much as possible at nights and on the weekend.

There are chickens EVERYWHERE. Rumor has it that back in the day a chicken farm got destroyed during a hurricane and the chickens have been roaming and reproducing ever since.


This is the squeak of sunshine I was talking about. This is actually the beach where they filmed a lot of the Pirates of the Carribean movie. It was so beautiful and remote. No Mr. Depp however.

I so wish that we could have had more beach time. Daxton LOVED playing in the sand and water so much more than last time. This is called Baby Beach @ Poipu Beach because the rocks block all the waves coming in and created this little cove perfect for babies.

This is Wiamea Canyon. WOW. It is called the Grand Canyon of the Pacific. It was cold and rainy this day, but the view was so incredible. There are two waterfalls if you look really close at the picture.


Our 6th anniversary happened to fall during the trip... lucky. One of the guys Landon works with has a daughter that babysat for us (AWESOME) so we could enjoy a night out. We ate at the place called the Beach House, right on the beach and watched the sun go down (kinda... if it weren't for the dark rain clouds.) boo. It was still so fun and yummy!



You can't drive all the way around Kauai because of Na Pali coast line which is just rocky mountain, but so beautiful. We drove as far as we could and walked the beach for a while. (yes, my face is getting prego chubby).



It rained SOOOOO hard when we were up there so good thing for this cool cave that went deep inside the mountain. It was kinda cool, but creepy. What if the whole thing came down!? yikes.



Lots of movies have been shot in Kauai. The middle of the island can only be seen by air. Remember in Jurassic Park when there are all the waterfalls and you think they are going to run into the mountain and you probably ducked (I did), well that is here. When you are driving up north you can see some of the waterfalls. Wow, it is so so beautiful!

This lighthouse used to be the port for the island, which is CRAZY. You should see the cliffs they had to haul stuff up. It is the most northern point of the Hawaiian islands and now a wildlife preserve.... mostly just a pretty coastline and lots of bird doodoo.

This place is called Spouting Horn. There is a hole in the rocks that the water gysers up though when the tide is high. Well, the tide wasn't high so no luck!


We still had such a great time, but nothing beats coming home and sleeping in your own bed after a red eye flight with a toddler! Awesome.... yeah no not really. You gotta go to Kauai though, it is the prettiest place I have EVER been, hands down! Hopefully next time it won't hurricane on us though!
