At last..... HAWAII

I'll keep my words short since I posted SOOOOOOO many pictures. I just didn't want to seperate all my posts.... anywho, we went to Hawaii for our Christmas present from my parents and it was such a blast! Thanks mom and dad!

Daxton's first plane ride! he was SUCH a rockstar the whole trip (even though we later found out that he had a ear infection, a super bad cold, a sky high fever, and getting molars all at the same time). He slept happily on my lap (which if you know us... this is a true miracle).

Famous Waikiki Beach! We snorkeled and just hung out in the beautiful 80 degree weather. Daxton wasn't a huge fan of the sand and water at first. Oh well.

We visited Laie and Daxton made fast friends with ol' Ronald. In fact when I picked him up he cried some serious tears of devastation.

Laie Temple. SO beautiful.

Polynesian Cultural Center. What a cool place. We saw a great water/boat parade, ate some yummy ice crea, enjoyed a delicious BBQ, and watched their famous luau which is SUPER impressive.

This is how Daxton looked most of the trip.... extremely sleep deprived.... sick.... tired.... etc. Just a bink and his blankie is all he needed and he was off to dreamland. You will be able to tell in all the pics that the stroller was truly my best friend on this trip.

Pali Lookout. Such a cool place. This is me and my gorgeous siblings. (OH, and see the long hair on my brother? Well, he let me cut it all off!!!)

Kailua Beach... one of the prettiest beaches I have even been to. Daxton enjoyed the water and sand much more this day. He is still obsessed with his shovel and bucket.

Sweet Emrie's 3rd Birthday! How would that be... celebrate your bday at the beach in Hawaii???

Everybody decided to snorkel/swim to that flat island in the distance. I have done it before so just decided to work on my sunburn, which was quite impressive I must say :) Landon decided to use Daxton's yellow floaty for security... so funny.

Sandy diapers..... heck YES. He had an extremely exfoliated bottom by the time we were homebound. Did I stop him? No. I figure there are much worse things.

Yes, I took this picture, it is not a postcard. It's it gorgeous of the Waikiki Beach sunset? It was this pretty every night. I think I want to go back... like right now.

The Pearl Harbor Memorial is such a neat and humbling place. They built a brand new facility since I had been last and it was incredible. I learned all sorts of neat things, none of which I will share right now because they are long stories so I will just leave it at that. :)

Hanauma Bay is seriously cool. It is this crater that is now filled with the best snorkeling I have ever seen. We didn't get to do this last time we were in HI, so it was a real treat. I even convinced Daxton to get in the water here... quite an accomplishment.

Cute sandy bum!

Our next stop was the Dole Pineapple Plantation. It is pretty neat to see how they grow and the history of how they got to Hawaii. I think the kids loved this place... and the adults with EVERYTHING pineapple flavored... delish. I am still going through fresh pineapple withdrawls, it's just not the same buying it at Walmart down the street.

Riding the Pineapple Express.

We the went to the North Shore which is so beautiful. Lots of surfers and even a few beached and sunbathing seaturtles.

We also went to Wiamea Falls which was so pretty. They used to have divers, but with it being a sacred place to the Hawaiians they decided to do away with that and do more cultural things like hula dancing. And no... I am NOT that big (with child) yet, the wind was blowing OK?

Since we have been home we have been homebound with sickness and Hawaiihomesickness for sure. Thanks mom and dad for such a wonderful time!

Happy 1st Birthday Daxton!!!!

It has been snowing for almost 12 hours straight so I can't think of anything better to do than catch up on a little blogging.... my favorite!

Can you believe that our little boy is one??? I totally can't! It seems like yesterday... literally. His birthday is at a whirlwind time of year, but we still got in some good celebratin'. I am not going to document every picture, but he had a great Tonka themed party, my mom made an awesome cake, Daxton LOVED and devoured every single morsle of his cupcake, and every gift he was given has been thouroughly enjoyed.... especially the Buzz car. It is so cute to see him walk around everywhere with it!

He is one now and officially weights 20.06 lbs!!!!! So that means a new car seat (thanks to Great Grandma Showell)!!! I think he like it... as much as any child would like a car seat. He just looks so big!

Speaking of looking big and old..... check out this handsome little man! He would absolutely NOT smile for the camera this day, but itsn't it SO cute!

Daxton's little milestones:
-weighs in at a whopping 20 lbs even and 28 inches.... all in about the 10thish percentile. I knew it would start dropping off someday... the kid is doomed to be short and skinny, with a big head.
-He still isn't walking and has expressed ZERO interest. You try and stand him up and he lifts up his legs or drops straight to his bum. Oh well, no rush little buddy.
-he jibber jabbers all day. It sounds like he is telling stories and his eyes get really expressive like we are supposed to understand him.
-He mimics a lot of words, but his favorite word is UH-OH right now. He says it then drops what he is holding, or says it if he hears something drop, everything is uh-oh lately. It is so cute. He slept in our room with us over Christmas and when he would stir during the night he would just say it over and over.... not so cute then. :)
-Weaning from the bottle and formula.... don't ask. He HATES milk. Suggesstions anyone?
This little boy has blessed our lives so much I can't even express it. He is SUCH a happy, busy, mischevious little boy and I wouldn't change a thing about him. We love you Baby Daxton!

11 Months

What a cheezer huh!?? This little boy has our hearts for sure. I can't believe he will turn ONE in like three weeks.... it makes me crazy to think how fast this year has gone and how much we love our little Baby Daxton.

He loves to drive cars... any kind so long as it has wheels. Even better though is he already makes the sound effects..... vroom vroom! Such a boy... and we didn't even teach him. If it has wheels it vrooms.

He LOVES LOVES LOVES to give big, wet, slobbery, open mouth (sometimes tounge) kisses! He gives them to mostly anybody that asks, but him and his little cousin couldn't stop kissing! He loves little Taylor.

Our first Thanksgiving together! Last year at this time I was big and pregnant and couldn't wait to meet my sweet little boy. This year we are grateful to have him, more grateful than I could have ever imagined.

Daxton and Daddy love doing bedtime together. It is sooooo cute to watch. Daxton has quite a little routine down and is really starting to love him blankie that Aunt Kathryn gave to him. He goes to his crib, sticks him little arm through and grabs his binki and blanky and is ready to snuggle with daddy. He mostly just rubs his face around in the blanket... it's so cute.

Other things that he is up to:
-He is the BUSIEST little person I know. He is the little engine that could.
-He is such a good eater and will eat anything... and a lot of it.
-He loved to push things around walking, but has yet to take his first independent step. I don't think it will be long.
-He loves people... ALL people and will go to anybody. He especially loves little kids and giggles non-stop when he sees another baby. He loves to play with his cousins.
-He gabbers ALL DAY. seriously.... never ending. He copies everything we say, well tries anyway. I have a feeling when he really figures out how to talk he is going to have a lot to say. :)
-He used to be the best traveler ever.... now??? Not so much. Sad day, I was starting to think my little boy was perfect in every way.
We love him so much. He is sometimes overwhelmingly busy, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.... ever.

10 months

Well, on to 11 months now with my blogging slackerness! My little man ain't so little anymore. We traveled all weekend and visited with lots of family with the same age little boys and it made me realize how big Daxton is getting... and how I love that he only has one tooth instead of a mouthful and that he isn't walking yet and so many other things because that means he can still be my baby and not a big boy!

We had to get a gate to trap this busy boy! I didn't want to find a broken little body at the bottom of my stairs.... sorry that was a little gory. The thing is.... he LOVES the gate. He b-lines it for the stairs even more now so he can play with it. He loves to shake it, lean backwards holding on with only one hand (scary), and yell down the stairwell to hear his echo. It's pretty cute and totally creating a false sense of security...... ohwell.

He is IMPOSSIBLE to get to smile for the camera anymore. He is all smiles all the time and then the camera comes out and he becomes all serious. He's still dang cute though.

We went to a cute little pumpkin patch this year.

Sorry for the nakedness, well not really because I know NOTHING is better than a nakey baby! Daxton loves loves loves to be nakey. The second we take his clothes off he flips over and starts panting like a dog and crawling really really fast in circles. So strange. See the pen in the picture? Well that is one of his new friends. Everyday or a couple times a day he finds something that he thinks is really interesting and totes it ALL over the house. If you try and take it away it can be pretty devastating! This day it happened to be the pen, tonight it was the baby monitor, sometimes it is even just his sock. I'm tellin ya... this kid has silly written all over him. He is just SOOOOO busy and so full of it...... but i love every second. He is the happiest little boy. There is not hardly anything that really upsets him. He is so indepenent and curious. He is NOT a mama's boy.... He loves me tons, but loves everybody else too. This little boy is seriously special!

Some other things that he is up to:

He claps, dances, and waves byebye all the whole day long. He never stops. He even danced the whole way through the ward choir performance which was like the most mellow song EVER.

He is starting to shake his little (actually kinda big) head and try to say no no.

He is starting to mimic all sorts of noises.... i mean all sorts so be careful what you "do" around him. Tonight someone (won't mention who) belched loudly and Daxton followed with a very similar sound! What a funny kid.

He is such a boy and totally giggles when anybody burps or toots.

He is getting mightly sassy these days. He swats me away when he doesn't like what i am doing, saying, or feeding him. He has such a mind of his own!

He is the sweetest little boy on the planet. Lately, he has been wanting to cuddle after his naps. This is a really new development and one that i am super pleased with! I love his snuggles and wet kisses.
