Ricks College Sweatshirt Kind Of Week
Saturday night i got the body aches worse than i have ever had them and woke up in the middle of the night with teeth chattering chills followed by extreme heat. Sunday (my first Monther's day, and it was wonderful... besides all of this) was worse. Daxton was starting to show signs of illness also. Let me just say this, he is not usually an every diaper pooper kinda kid, but he all of a sudden was.... BIG time. Get what i am saying? When your sliding in to first.... blah blah blah. You get it now i'm sure. ANYWAY, we were both not doing so hot. Monday Landon went out of town which i was less than thrilled about in our tender state, but he had to work so off he goes for a couple of days. While he was gone Daxton and I got much worse. I don't think i got off the couch or out of bed unless i had to. Landon got home late on Tuesday and even took Wednesday off to tend us. Love you honey. :) Thursday comes and we are not getting ANY better so i went to the doctor. He couldn't believe how badly our community was infected by this horrible flu! There was somebody sick in every home on my street. Weird huh???
Well, finally on Thursday night we get a crack in the case. WATER CONTAMINATION. You becha. Awesome. Saratoga Springs releases a statement saying that my neighborhood has a bacteria in the water causing stomach and intestinal illness. Wonderful. My little 5 month old contaminitated. I had been feeding him extra bottles even so he wouldn't get dehydrated. I had been seriously chugging water so i could keep nursing and get rid of the "bug." Nice huh?
UPDATE: Our whole community is on boil alert. We have to boil the water that we use. We can't wash dishes and we can't cook. Thank heavens we can shower and that there is a Del Taco down the street. They have been chlorinating the water so now we all smell like swimming pools. Good thing we have massive amounts of bottled water in our food storage. Daxton had his first non-messy diaper this morning after 6 days. Poor kid. I won't tell you about me because it is weird, but i am doing much better, thank you.
So the moral of the story: Always be prepared for a poopy day. Literally. And keep your old, favorite sweatshirt no matter what anybody says because it really does make you feel better and there is nothing better than just letting yourself go sometimes.

His easter diddy's. Funny face..... it's the best one i could get. He is super smiley but once the camera comes out he can't focus on smiling..... too many things at once i guess.
He is getting so big and strong that we busted out some new toys this week! The Johnny Jump Up... which he mostly just sucks on the side, not jump. And.....
the Jeep Liberty Renegade! Are those not the cutest legs ever! They don't even touch the ground, just dangle in the air. His little toes touch if he tries REAL hard. He LOVES these new toys though... just squeals with excitement that we don't make him stare at the playmat star anymore. :) He is starting to roll both ways and really play with toys now. And.... slobber more, spit up more, and poop more. I guess the good comes with the bad.
Being a mom is making we try all sorts of new things, now that i have time. Kathryn, a great friend, helped me make some seriously delicious stawberry freezer jam. I didn't realize how easy it is! Turns out i am not such a good mathmatician (or speller??) and we ended up with jam coming out our ears and still tons of strawberries left. This is just my half... Lauren took this much home too. Oops. Good thing it's yummy.
Well that's about all that is going on around here. Just the same ol, same ol.

3 Months
You could sit him in front of a mirror ALL day and he would just talk to himself non-stop. It's one of our favorite activities. I am not sure if he knows it is him, but it's funny to watch him get all bashful when he smiles at himself.
He sleeps like this 90% of the time. With his little arm folded under his face and his binki (which you can barely see in this picture) tucked right in the arm fold. So cute. I could just watch him sleep for hours. Yeah, and i do swaddle him SO tight. We are trying to wean him from swaddling right now. It's not going so well. I heard that you are supposed to stop swaddling them around 3-4 months for gross motor skill development. Hmmmm, i'm working on it!
We visited Noelle and Zak in Rexburg over the weekend. Poor Emrie gets her two cousins mixed up. They are they same age and their names are Daxton and Jaxton. Poor thing, so confusing for a 2 year old! We can't get her to say Daxton for ANYTHING! It's adorable though.
He LOVES his Star and Bug. They are his first little friends. He smiles at them like they are real people and talks to them and it sounds like he is really trying to conversate! Thank goodness for his little buddies so mommy can get things done.
Oh, i just love this picture. He is getting really good at lifting his head during tummy time and it makes for some pretty cute pictures. I think he is gonna be my blue eyed boy... except his right eye has some big brown spots in it.... kinda unique.

Little Precious
Tuesday, March 9, 2010
This is one of the only family pictures I have since Daxton was born... and my eyes look all droopy or something. Oh well. Daxton was SO handsome in his little blessing outfit.... however, it was silk and he was as slippery as snot in it. I just love my little family. Landon is the best dad. He is so good to be involved when he come home from a long day at work. We appreciate and love him so much.
Thanks again to all the family an friends who were there with us and helped out so much. We love you!
