August

We had a BUSY August!!! Here is a little summary of whats been goin' on! We started off the month with Bodie's first birthday.... which totally stunk because he was barfing for a week straight and was so tired and lethargic that he would just fall asleep the second I picked him up. He slept on the couch with lots of craziness going on for like 3 hours! Poor little thing. I felt so bad for the little guy, he just had no idea what was going on and felt so crummy. Thankfully we are all better now!

Daxon plays outside pretty much 24-7. This is his little friend Austin. They are so cute and are little best buds. They even have the same bike and look like a little gang riding around together.

I went to St. George and had a get together with my best ol' girlfriends from high school. We have all kept in touch somewhat, but not as much as we should have! I think we were all a little nervous to see if we were even still friends, but I cannot say how awesome it was that we just picked back up like old times and had a BLAST!!! I love these girls. They are my favorite people of all time and the best friends I have ever had in my whole life! Just wish I would have taken more pics. :(

We spent a few days at Seven Peaks. Daxton has been a little scared of the water, but going here has really helped. Bodie loved it too! Daxton is such a funny little boy and is obsessed with being just like Dadda. He has to have his sunglasses and Nike hat everywhere we go! He is just getting so big and I want to freeze him so he doesn't get any older. He is a precious little boy with so much care and love for other people. He is getting so smart and is just a wonderful little dude. Love these boys.

Bodie, just being a mess! This is one energetic little boy. He is soooo busy and wild. Church or anywhere that he has to be contained is a nightmare with this kiddo right now! It is just part of his age so I am doing my best to just enjoy him, and I do! He is always full of snuggles and smiles. I have a feeling that he will always be a ball full of energy and fun. It has been fun to see his little personality emerge.

I started watching a little neighbor girl while her mom teached Kindergarden in the afternoons. She mostly just naps during that time. She is such a cutie and the boys LOVE her!

Landon and I had a little date night this last weekend and it was SO fun! It was actually a work function for Landon, but it didn't seem like it at all. It was a fundraising Gala for the University of Utah healthcare. His company bought a table and we were asked to attend. Twist my arm would ya?! It was at La Caille Restaurant in the foothills of Salt Lake. It was INCREDIBLE. This place was amazing. You turn into this huge gate and drive down a mile long cobblestone drive lined with trees and forest. Then you get to this amazing building that looks like a turn of the century French chatteau. Wow. It was so beautiful and the grounds were also gorgeous. The meal was delicous and we ended up accidentally running into some of our best friends (the North's) which made the evening even better. We topped off with a little Creme Brule and called it a night. Sometimes it is fun feeling fancy! Am I right?

Noelle and her kiddies are finally home from North Carolina for the summer. These boys are all within 3 months of eachother. What were we thinking??!! Actually, it is so fun and I love to see how they are all so different. It is going to be so fun to see them all grow up together and be buddies.... we hope anyway!!!!

Well that was our month and I hope yours was just as good!

Birthday Boy

Bodie- 1 Week Old

Bodie- 6 Months Old

Bodie- 1 Year Old!
I CANNOT believe that my baby is one.... ONE! Crazy, I tell ya. Bodie has brought nothing but happiness to our family. From the moment we brought him home I knew he was a total keeper! He was a near perfect baby (nursed well, slept through the night at 2 months, easy going, ya know all the good stuff). He is pretty wonderful. Not to mention he has the cutest cheesy grin and velvet soft skin that makes even the naughtiest little one seem wonderful! Here are a few stats that I want to remember.

Weight: 19 lbs. (6%)
Height: 30 inches (59%)
Words: Dada, nana, uh-oh, lots of gibber gabber
Skills: master crawler, can go up and down the stairs, cruising furniture, walking behind things.
He loves food, all food! He worships Daxton and keeps right up with him. He has a cute little sense of humor and loves to crack him self up. He has the CUSTEST giggle I have ever heard! He is soooooo busy. Holy Moly, he wears me out and I cannot keep up with him!
We aboslutely love our little Bodie.

We had a party for Bodie on Sunday night because his birthday was on a Wednesday and we had other obligations. We had some friends and family over to help celebrate with us.

He LOVED his birthday cake! He scarffed it right now, but not before he made a ginormous mess. So I just threw him in the sink for a little tubby time.

Already being so modest for the camera! Ha.

We got Bodie a wagon which he LOVES, although Daxton thinks it is his! Everybody needs a wagon, it's the best. Talk about hours of entertainment!
Unfortunately, Bodie came down with a nasty tummy bug and has been throwing up for 3 days. Bless his little heart, he is the sweetest little thing ever. So we have spent the week snuggling and trying to get better. Poor little thing, nobody should have to be sick on their birthday!
Love you tons Bodie-boy.

Campin'

I wish I could count how many times Daxton said, "Dada, I wuv campin!" So according to the two year old camping was a raving success.

We camped up American Fork Canyon at the base of Mt. Timpanogas. It was beautiful and amazing. I was a tad (ok, a lot) nervous about camping with a baby who can't walk and is a picky sleeper, BUT he amazing!!!! He loved it and was such a good boy. I just love him. This was about how dirty he was the whole time. I wonder how much dirt he ate? Maybe it is better if I don't know....

I got  Landon a camping hammock for Fathers Day and we couldn't wait to try it out. Our camping spot had the PERFECT spot in between a grove of aspen in hang it. It was a little slice of heaven!

Daxton was SUCH a daddy's boy on this trip. He would not leave his side! It was cute to see him want to be like his Daddy, I wouldn't have it any other way! In fact, he would not give me the time of day! Daxton saw a mama and baby moose, Bambi (a big buck), horsies, and lots of chipmunks. He did not want to go home!

The Patten's, some good friends of ours, drove up and had a weenie roast with us. Our kiddies have a blast together and it was a fun evening.

I can't wait to make lots of memories camping with my family and this was an awesome start!!

4th

So we had an AWESOME holiday!!!!! We usually travel to see family for holidays, but now with little kiddos it is so much harder! We love staying home and celebrates with our wonderful neighbors/great friends. Our street has a little party which is so fun every year. We live in a culdesac so we pretty much block it off and party till the sun goes down! The kids all decorate their bikes, scooters, cars, etc. and we have a parade. ADORABLE. Seriously we have the cutest kids on our street. Daxton is getting so big and independent (stubborn) and wanted to ride his bike all by himself! We had a big BBQ and finished off with some fireworks. We are so lucky/blessed to live where we do and have such great neighbors and friends. See the cloud of smoke in the background? Oh, just another fire here in UT. Because of this fire our 4th plans were kind of ruined. We were going to go to a little lake up American Fork Canyon but they closed it all down so we had to change our plans. Luckily, here in these parts we have a plethera of lakes for our trusty canoe!

We ended up at Mirror Lake in the high Uintas (past Heber) for the actual 4th of July. WOW! It was sooo beautiful and it was so fun to go somewhere we haven't been before. We took two families from our street and it was amazing! We had a blast. The lake was gorgeous, the weather was perfect, and the kids had a BLAST. Daxton didn't get a nap (for the first time in his whole little life) and he did awesome. He just wandered freely with the other kids, played in the water, and LOVED the canoe. He is so awesome! He fell asleep within 30 seconds of being in the car so that pretty much means he had the best day ever. We stopped for the all american cheeseburger and shakes dinner and called it a night with some AWESOME fireworks on the street. We couldn't have asked for a better day!

29 forever

RIP my twentys. They are long gone now.... no turning back. I have been looking forward to this birthday for a long time, not because I am getting older, but because Landon let me choose my gift. And if you know me at all what I choose will be no suprise. SHOPPING! My mom came and stayed with my boys for the night and we made a date of it. We stayed in SLC and just enjoyed some r and r and then shopped till we dropped. Landon was SUCH a good sport and even helped me pick out some things. Seriously, I have the best husband. He didn't complain once and even pretended to have fun! We finished two full days of shopping with a movie (the Avengers) and went home to our kidlings. It was my first time leaving them both for the night and don't judge me for saying this, but I kinda loved it! It was such a treat to sleep past 6:30am! It was also Fathers Day weekend so we got to celebrate Landon's awesomeness, which he more than deserved. My parents were here to celebrate also and we loved having them. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a better birthday. Now, onto the best decade of my life!

@ Citycreek

@ Highland fountains. We swam all day and have been sick ever since. Like barf and the other stuff for a whole week. Seriously, if your kids are sick don't take them swimming! Thanks :)

BIG Changes

I am in denial. My little baby and first born is growing up and to tell you the honest truth, I don't really like it. I had been putting off this day for a LONG time, but he was ready and I was being selfish. He would have been fine in his crib until he graduated from High School, but his little brother decided to start standing up and needed the big crib. I was also really nervous that he would be up in the night wandering around and break his neck falling down the stairs, but I have been pleasantly suprised! He does NOT leave that bed. Infact, I don't think he moves all night long. When he wakes up he just sits in his bed saying, "Mama, are you?" and holds his little sleeping buddies until I come and get him. I love my little guy, like seriously he is the awesomest little boy EVER. He loves being a big boy and is getting so independent. I am proud of him every day.

9 Months

I better blog about Bodie's 9th month before it is over! This litte fellow is BUSY!!!! He started crawling this month so he is mobile now, yikes. I remember how hard it was when Daxton started crawling because you just have to watch their every little move...... and make sure to vacuum. He isn't too fast yet but he is actually a lot happier now that he can get around and entertain himself. He mosty just follows Daxton everywhere! These two have so much fun together. Daxton can make Bodie giggle like nobody else! Bodie went in for his nine month appointment and weighed in at a whopping 18 lbs. (14th percentile) and 28 inces long (50th percentile). He is almost exactly the same size as Daxton at this age. I really love this age! Bodie is a fiesty little thing! He lets it be known when he needs or wants something. He is sleeping and eating like a champ, well except for the 6AM wake ups. Seriously, as much as I love summer I dread those early wake ups! I am slowly becoming a zombie.

What a dapper little dude! He has been giving me this goofy grin for pictres lately, but I can't help but think it is ADORABLE! Daxton is turning into a big boy right before my eyes. He is talking so well and say the funniest little things! I need to write then down! He is loving nursery and playing with his friends, playing outside, working with dad, and is just my best little buddy.

When we went in for Bodie's 9 month appointment they took a little bit of blood and tested his iron (typical for this age). It came back really high which can cause heart problems later in life. They wanted to get more blood work to make sure and were thinking that the first test they did might have been wrong and the maching read it wrong. We went in to the hospital lab and they had to stick his little arms which was totally devastating for him....... and me. He did great and was so brave. Well turns out he is JUST FINE!!! WAHOOOOOO. It is just sickening to know that something might be wrong with your child, even something small like this. I am really grateful that everything is okay.

Happy 7th anniversary to us! I seriously have the best guy..... sorry ladies. He is the best husband and father and I have loved our seven years together. Here is to MANY more! And yes, I am aware that we both look sickly in this picture. It was late okay?

Daxton has been OBSESSED with hummus lately! I am actually really proud of him for trying new things and not being a picky eater which is not an easy feat for a toddler. In fact, his favorite foods are cucumbers, cantelope, strawberries, olives, mushrooms, hummus, aaaaaand ice cream!

And Happy Mothers Day! My boys let me sleep in, which would be great if I could actually sleep in. I am like my boys and wake up with the sun. Anyway, I got to lay in bed for an extra little while. I came down and the boys suprised me with this tent (below). It is a half dome tent and is super easy to put up and take down. I have had my eye on this to use during the summer at the park, pool, and camping. They made me breakfast, spoiled me with their sweet kisses, and made me my favorite red velvet cake. I love being their mom. There were many many days where I wondered if I would be able to have kids so to have these two little monkeys is pretty specacular. I can't even explain the happiness that being a mom brings me. Not going to lie, it is a LOT of work keeping up with these two busy little boys, but I wouldn't change a thing. Okay maybe one thing: LOTS more hugs, kisses, and snuggles, and maybe an occasional morning where they sleep past 6. That's it though.
